It's almost four o'clock in the morning here and I was just woken up by my email alarm. In my box was a note from British designer Richard Lawson about his long-awaited "9 Volt" LED light. It's finally available from Mathmos' site. The final design even incorporates a tilt sensor which turns the light off when it's laid to the side. Available in red and blue for now - white to arrive later. A must-have at any Geek dinner party; works with rechargeable 9 volt batteries as well. I do wish they could slowly dim/brighten so as to simulate candle light. That would make for a much more interesting effect on the dinner table.
