The Ultimate Cat Lover's Gadget
I've never really interacted with, let alone owned, a cat until this past October when I adopted Domingo - his owners were too sick to care for him anymore. Ever since then I've been spoiling him silly with the usual treats and toys. But two weeks ago I broke down and SPLURGED. Big time. I bought the ultimate litter box-the famed Litter Robot. After scouring the net for reviews and YouTube videos of the device in action I couldn't come up with a reason not to get one. There appeared to be no negative reviews! Afterall, how can a rotating magical sphere that neatly separates your cat's business into a secret compartment, rendering your room oder-free, be anything but perfect? So I closed my eyes and dove into my savings for the $300 to pay for it. I figured with the 60 day money back guarantee there's nothing to lose. And boy were they right. I almost love it as much as my cat! The Litter Robot turns into motion after every time your cat uses the facilities. The sphere rotates and clumped litter is separated into an enclosed trash bag under the unit while clean litter remains on top. The beauty of the system is that scooping is rendered obsolete, and less litter is used. You'll see what I mean when you see the video. Let me know if you intend on getting one, especially if you have any doubts before dropping the cash. I think it's worth every penny!

Hi, I just read your blog with the Litter Robot on it. I already have an electronic litter box for my cat & it is much better than the old fashioned way, but am sick of taking it apart to clean the parts and cleaning all the parts with urine all over them. Since you have owned this for awhile, have you come across the problem of urine and poop being all over the inside of the orb that you wind up having to take apart & clean & does your cat wind up having any of it on them. Has it clogged on you yet? I would be grateful to you for your response on my questions since money is tight and I already forked out 250.00 for the one I bought almost 2 years ago. Thanks for your help in advance. Rose :o)

Hi Rose,
Thanks for posting! To answer your question in short, no. That was actually my original concern prior to purchasing the Litter Robot. My cat is medium to large size and I was concerned that his head, back, tail would touch the areas where the clumped litter have been, but I haven't found that to be a problem. Also, the urine and litter clumps don't adhere to the inside surface of the orb, so there's no cleaning to be done. I haven't done any at least.

I have had a Litter Robot for over three years now, and it's still going strong. Fantastic!
One great thing about it is that as the globe rolls, it "breads" the clumps for you, even if you have someone who doesn't cover.
So the inside stays clean. Every spring I take the globe outside & hose it down. The electronics stay in the base and doesn't get wet.
What sold me on it was the engineering... unlike other automatic litter boxes, it looked like it would work, and it does.
My husband says, "Out of all your crazy ideas, this is the one I like the best."
We adopted a third cat several months ago, and he took to it right away. Three cats in a small apartment might have given us pause, but not with the Robot.
If you have cats, get it. It will be the best money you ever spent.
